The Safety Professional will provide safety leadership, ensure facility compliance with OSHA and corporate safety directives, implement and maintain a safety management system including understanding risks and opportunities, improve safety performance and ensure facility safety policies and procedures are aligned with governmental regulations. Interface with internal, external customers, exercise discretion and make independent judgments with Safety and health Issues. Maintain liaison with senior contract, government personnel and/or administrative officials of various Federal and local Government agencies on issues relating to safety and health problems. Ongoing contracts shall also be established with various private sector organizations and individuals involved with safety and occupational health issues. Attend meetings/conferences with government representatives and contract representatives providing expertise as required.
